Owned, loved and lived in by the family. Pencarrow is a Georgian house with Grade II* listed gardens.
Enjoy a guided tour with a difference and step back into the past with stories of the Molesworths past and present! We have a superb collection of portraits, furniture and porcelain.
You’ll find walks through 50 acres of beautiful formal and woodland gardens, a Victorian rockery, Italian garden, many different varieties of rhododendrons, a lake, Iron Age hill fort and icehouse.
Pencarrow has a café, gift shop, plants for sale and childrens playground. Dogs welcome in the gardens and can have a run off the lead in the woods. We also offer weddings.

- The Gardens: Open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM until 31st October 2026.
- The House, Café, and Shop: Reopen for the season on 30th March 2026. Open daily except Saturdays until 30th October 2026.
House Tours
- Guided tours of the house start at 11:15 AM and run every 45 minutes, with the last tour at 3:00 PM.
- Tours last approximately one hour.
Peacock Café
- Open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Last orders are at 4:30 PM, and lunches are served from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
Gift Shop
- Open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Admission Prices
- House and Gardens: £18.75 for adults, £5.00 for children aged 5-16, free for children under 5, and £14.50 for registered disabled visitors.
- Gardens Only: £11.00 for adults, free for children under 16, and £8.00 for registered disabled visitors.
Special offers include a £1 discount on full-paying adult tickets for the House and Gardens (not applicable to Gardens Only tickets).
Private Tours
- Private guided tours are available for £60 per person (minimum of two people). Groups of six or more adults pay £50 per person.
- These tours include a detailed exploration of the house, a cream tea, and a complimentary guidebook.
Accessibility
- Wheelchair access is available for most areas, and wheelchairs can be booked in advance.
- Mobility scooters are not allowed inside the house, but electric wheelchairs are permitted.
- Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the estate.
