Owned, loved and lived in by the family. Pencarrow is a Georgian house with Grade II* listed gardens.
Enjoy a guided tour with a difference and step back into the past with stories of the Molesworths past and present! We have a superb collection of portraits, furniture and porcelain.
You’ll find walks through 50 acres of beautiful formal and woodland gardens, a Victorian rockery, Italian garden, many different varieties of rhododendrons, a lake, Iron Age hill fort and icehouse.
Pencarrow has a café, gift shop, plants for sale and childrens playground. Dogs welcome in the gardens and can have a run off the lead in the woods. We also offer weddings.

Pencarrow House and Gardens is a historic estate located in Cornwall, offering a variety of attractions and events for visitors. Below is a detailed summary of the opening times and conditions for visiting the estate:
General Opening Times
- The gardens will re-open on 1st March 2026, operating daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM until 31st October 2026.
- The house, café, and shop will re-open on 30th March 2026, open daily except Saturdays until 30th October 2026.
- House tours start at 11:15 AM and occur every 45 minutes, with the last tour at 3:00 PM. Tours last approximately one hour.
- The Peacock Café operates from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with last orders at 4:30 PM. Lunches are served from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
- The gift shop is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Special Events
- Snowdrop Gardens: Open on 7th and 8th February 2026.
- Easter Trail: Held on 5th and 6th April 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Normal garden entry fees apply, but under 16s enter for free.
- Bluebell & Wild Garlic Sunday: Scheduled for 3rd May 2026.
- ABBA by Moonlight: A special event on 23rd July 2026.
- Teddy Bear Picnic: Takes place on 9th August 2026.
- Summer Craft Fair: Held on 15th and 16th August 2026.
- Celebration of Enid Blyton Day: Scheduled for 23rd August 2026.
- The Sword in the Stone: A performance on 25th August 2026.
- Christmas Artisan Fair: Held on 21st and 22nd November 2026.
Admission Prices
- House and Gardens: Adults £18.75, 5-16 year olds £5.00, under 5s free, registered disabled £14.50.
- Gardens Only: Adults £11.00, under 16s free, registered disabled £8.00.
- Private Tours: £60 per person (minimum two people), £50 per person for groups of six or more.
Additional Information
- Dogs are welcome in the gardens but not inside the house (except assistance dogs).
- Parking is free, but all visitors must register their visit at the shop.
- Accessibility options include ramps, wheelchairs, and a film of the upper floor for those unable to climb stairs.
