Accommodation at Mount Ephraim

Mount Ephraim is a late-Victorian Grade II listed manor house. 10 acres of classical gardens which are open to the public lie within an 800-acre farm with stunning views of the surrounding Kent countryside. It was originally built in 1695, rebuilt in 1878 and then extended in 1913, all for the Dawes family, when the West Wing was added.

Our five Guest Rooms have been individually decorated and feature an ensuite bathroom, flatscreen TV and tea and coffee making facilities with stunning views over the estate. Guests can enjoy exclusive access to our ten acres of stunning gardens outside of normal opening hours and enjoy a sumptuous breakfast in our West Wing Kitchen. Due to being in an old house with the guest rooms on the first floor we are inaccessible to wheelchair users.

We are ideally located just off the end of the M2 motorway in Kent and en route for anyone travelling to Dover or the Channel Tunnel. We’re also just 10 minutes drive away from the seaside town of Whitstable or the cathedral city of Canterbury and just 5 minutes from the charming market town of Faversham with plenty of shops and supermarkets. For the active guest we have some great local walks and cycle rides accessible from our doorstep and we will happily store bicycles overnight. During our Garden Season (April to September) our Tea Room is open Wednesdays to Sundays serving delicious home-made lunches and home-baked cakes and afternoon teas.

In the evenings guests are welcome to picnic in the gardens during summer or eat a take-away in our Edwardian kitchen during the Winter, and we’re just a short walk, and even quicker drive away, from the Red Lion pub in Hernhill – a 13th-century Hall House stepped in history serving contemporary Kentish food from local suppliers. We’re an ideal country house retreat and we welcome families, friends, couples or those on business. Come stay with us and enjoy everything the estate has to offer.

All rooms are Doubles and have flat screen TVs, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers and free wifi. A home-made Full English or Continental Breakfast is served for all guests. Free on site parking is available and all stays include access to our beautiful gardens, during or outside of normal garden opening hours.

Mount Ephraim is a peaceful family home set in the charming village of Hernhill with two village pubs and ideally located near the market town of Faversham, Whitstable and other Kent seaside towns, and the cathedral City of Canterbury.
