Due the historic nature of the Grade One listed building, there is no lift and therefore we regret that we are only able to offer access to the ground floor for our visitors who are wheelchair users. We have three accessible parking bays close to the house and an accessible lavatory by the tea room.

Firle Place has been the home of the Gage family for over 500 years, and is a house with a rich history and extraordinary collection of old master paintings, porcelain and furniture.
The Firle Estate sits in the heart of the South Downs National Park and just 60 miles from the centre of London. Incorporating several villages and farms spread over rolling hills, Firle is a thriving rural community set in one of the most picturesque parts of the United Kingdom.
The Firle Place tea room and terrace are open to all on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays from 11am until 4.30pm, serving hot and cold drinks, light lunches and cakes.

Disabled/carer ticket – For adults who require the assistance of a carer, the accompanying carer receives free entry. Book one ticket on-line and request carer’s ticket on arrival at ticket office. Proof of disability or carer may be requested.
Firle Place welcomes pre-booked groups of between 15 and 50 visitors. House tours usually take about one hour.

Firle Place is situated near Lewes, between Brighton and Eastbourne in East Sussex, on the south coast of England. From London take the M23 and exit onto the A27 towards Eastbourne. The village of Firle is eleven miles from Brighton, four miles after Lewes.
For those travelling by public transport, the closest train stations are either Lewes or Berwick. The 38 bus stops at Firle Place Gates.
