Birdsall House is home to the Willoughby family. Set on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, with breathtaking views, this stunning house is not normally open to the public and remains very much a family home.

We offer you a guided tour by a member of the family who will show you Birdsall’s treasures, such as the unbroken line of family portraits dating from 1573 to the present day. Highlights include works by artists such as Sir Joshua Reynolds and Pompeo Batoni, and furniture by Thomas Chippendale.

The tour begins with a welcome and brief history of Birdsall House and Willoughby family, followed by a tour of our grand state reception rooms on the ground floor and three bedrooms upstairs. We end with tea and biscuits in the dining room and, if the weather is fine, a wander around the gardens.

Tours that are scheduled will be listed below. If none are scheduled yet, please check back later, or find other tours you might enjoy on our tours listing page here.
