Corporate membership

Hundreds of businesses, organisations and groups support our work and the survival of our member places.

Historic Houses flag

Corporate membership is open to businesses and individuals who supply goods and services to the owners and managers of historic sites, from asbestos removal to architectural design, legal advice to lighting; heritage charities and other heritage organisations (other than those who own or run historic houses) who share our aims and values; and employee and social groups who want to share the cards that enable them to visit hundreds of member attractions for free, read our online content, and take part in our offers and competitions.

Standard subscriptions (suppliers and employee/social groups) start at £303.41 incl. VAT. A discounted rate of £150.53 is available on application to heritage charities and selected other heritage organisations.

Exposure to a specialist market

Corporate membership is a great way for businesses and individuals who supply goods and services to the owners of historic properties to let their potential customers and clients know about relevant products. Corporate members appear on our supplier directory, available to all online and mailed in print to all our house members. They’re entitled to discounts on advertising in our quarterly members’ magazine, and on stands at the independent but linked Historic Buildings, Parks, and Gardens Exhibition that runs in parallel with our AGM. Representatives have the opportunity to meet house owners at many of our events, and may post time-limited offers or opportunities on our popular members-only noticeboard for no additional charge.

Our channels are the best way to our your business in front of more than fifteen hundred historic house owners, representing the vast majority of Grade I and II* buildings in independent ownership in the UK.

Expertise and insight

Our bank of advice and guidance notes is available to all corporate members, who also receive many of the same regular updates on policy and best practice that we share with our house members.

Amenity

All corporate memberships cards come with four transferable membership cards that can be used at participating houses and gardens to gain free entry, subject to the regular terms of membership.

What your subscription gets you

Supplier listing

Put yourself in front of a niche market

Corporate members are entitled to a listing in our printed and online supplier directory – across as many of the categories as are relevant.

Opportunity broadcasts

Publicise time-sensitive offers

Our popular members-only opportunities board is the best way to tell house members about discounts or deals on products, the introduction of special pricing, the introduction of new goods or services, or anything that might be to house owners’ advantage. The notice board also carries news about the launch of grant schemes, calls for TV series, etc, so it’s an essential go-to for house members who want to make the most of the time-sensitive opportunities open to their house.

Discounted adverts

Save on ads in our magazine

Our publishers, who handle the advertising for Historic House magazine, offer discounts on pages and inserts, as well as reduced rates for the Historic Buildings, Parks, and Gardens Exhibition run independently by them alongside our National AGM.

Networking events

Meet potential customers

Most of our house members events, including our regional and national AGMs, are also open to attendees from our corporate members. While speaking slots come only with our sponsorship packages, these face-to-face gatherings offer an opportunity to show solidarity with the cause of independent heritage and make personal connections.

Corporate members may be invited (capacity permitting) to:

  • The annual Business Conference in March (bear in mind this fills up quickly and we give priority to house members)
  • Regional AGMs, from May to September (a corporate member will only receive an invitation to the AGM of the region where their registered membership address is located – smaller AGMs may reach capacity for lunch, etc, and will prioritise house members)
  • Our Annual Seminar in September (subject to capacity, as above)
  • The National AGM in November (virtually unlimited capacity)

Transferable cards

Enjoy free entry to hundreds of attractions

All categories of member are offered free entry by hundreds of participating member houses and gardens that open to the public on a regular basis. Corporate members receive four cards, which are transferable to any member of staff or client, meaning you can reward or thank the people most important to your company with a wonderful day out, or just enjoy our beautiful places yourself.
