Summer Events at Painshill

Things to see and do

This summer, join Painshill for fabulous outdoor entertainment.

During June and July, the stunning Painshill landscape in Cobham welcomes a jam-packed programme of music and theatre.

Rick Parfitt Jr, motor racing driver and son of Status Quo guitarist Rick Parfitt, is just one of the names featuring at Painshill’s Live Music Lates, when his RPJ Band brings a festive vibe to the historic garden.

Music from the greats comes courtesy of some of the finest tribute bands, including The Bon Jovi Experience, The Trembling Wilburys, Elite Elton and One Step Behind.

With Majesty, the Queen Tribute, and Fleetwood Bac already sold out, you will want to book your tickets now!

Painshill’s Live Music Lates will run from 5.30pm – 9pm in their tree-lined oval lawn, giving visitors the chance to soak up the magnificent views and watch the sun lowering over the lake and vineyard.

Their Walled Garden, surrounded by the beautiful flower beds, welcomes some of the best touring outdoor theatre companies.

The HandleBards will deliver hilarious, high-octane Shakespeare to the venue, by bike! The cycling actors carry all of their set, props and costumes on the back of their bikes, performing extremely energetic, charmingly chaotic and environmentally sustainable plays. They bring A Midsummer Night’s Dream to Painshill on Friday June, 9.

Perfect for the period setting, Pride and Prejudice shows on Saturday, July 15. Have a ball as the irrepressible Illyria sharpen their claws to bring you Jane Austen at her vibrant, sassy best!

The award-winning company are also bringing to Painshill Twelfth Night (Sunday, June 18) and Robin Hood (Saturday, June 3). An evening of romance, music and joy, Twelfth Night is performed on a stage inspired by the Elizabethan touring troupes. Robin Hood is one for the whole family and features tales of camaraderie and swashbuckling action.

Folksy Theatre use a mix of live performance, music and puppetry to provide innovative and exciting touring theatre. They are at Painshill on Saturday, July 29 with The Merry Wives of Windsor and Saturday, August 26 with the classic family tale The Ugly Duckling.

See two shows in one evening with 440 Theatre! Four actors perform Shakespeare in 40 mins in these fast-paced, in your face, funny productions. Their “Double Bill” for 2023 is Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet at Painshill on Friday, August 4.
