Gallop back in time with medieval jousting and falconry at Tumblestone Hollow at Stonor Park
An exhilarating clash of power and endurance awaits as the Knights of Royal England descend upon Stonor Park and Tumblestone Hollow during the first Bank Holiday weekend in May, from the 2nd to the 4th.

In a time-travelling journey to ignite imaginations, visitors of all ages will be catapulted into the medieval era as the ever-popular jousting tournament returns to the beautiful grounds of Stonor Park on the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire border.
Witness the bravery of knights as they gallop through the arena, gripping their lance tightly and displaying exceptional horsemanship on their valiant steeds in a bid to defeat their adversary.
In an immersive experience, children and adults can also marvel at the impressive falconry displays as birds soar across the sky and take part in activities from the Middle Ages including archery and axe-throwing, for an action-packed day out.
Parents can sit back with a warm cup of coffee, or get into the medieval spirit with a cup of mead, as their little ones continue the fun in the Tumblestone Hollow adventure playground. Filled with spiralling slides, secret tunnels, an adrenaline-fuelled zip wire, climbing walls and ropes, wooden bridges and whimsical turrets, the playground is suitable for all ages. It includes a dedicated toddler section featuring a water-play area – and encourages children to engage in imaginative and adventurous play in the fresh air.
As well as access to Tumblestone Hollow, tickets include entry to Stonor’s beautiful gardens, where the whole family can soak up the green spaces and beautiful planting which have burst into life. The impressive Stonor House will also be open every afternoon throughout the weekend, providing an all-round multi-generational experience.
Louisa Fifield, general manager at Stonor Park, said: “Medieval jousting is one of our most popular weekends here at Stonor and marks the beginning of our vibrant events season.
“For families looking to ditch the screens and enjoy a value-for-money day out together creating memories in the great outdoors, or for locals, friends and groups who are searching for an exhilarating and unique experience in an uplifting setting with good food, our jousting weekend will certainly tick those boxes.
“We’d also like to encourage children to dress up in their finest medieval costumes and they will be invited into the arena at the end of each jousting tournament to receive a prize.”
When it’s time to sit down and refuel, a variety of food options will be on offer throughout the weekend including a hog roast, wood-fired pizzas, gourmet burgers and fries alongside a pop-up beer tent.
Taking place from Saturday 2nd May until Monday 4th May, entry to the medieval jousting event is £14.50 for adults, £15.50 for children from five years and £13.45 for children aged 3-4 years. Family tickets (£40 for a family of three or £50 for a family of four) are also available.
Tumblestone Hollow offers free parking and there will be an additional charge for the archery and axe-throwing activities.
