Combermere Abbey named ‘Service Accommodation Provider of the Year’

Combermere Abbey, a historic house based in the Cheshire countryside, has had its North Wing named ‘Small Serviced Accommodation Provider of the Year’ in the Marketing Cheshire tourism awards this month.

The award-winning luxury bed and breakfast has housed everyone from royalty to religious elites – and is now open to the public for overnight stays.

Highly commended in the ‘Cheshire Wedding Venue’ category too, the Combermere Abbey team has been applauded for its contribution to Cheshire tourism and hospitality, with the award win highlighting the business’ commitment to the local community, the environment and its guests with an offering that’s second to none.

The North Wing B&B suites are ideal for romantic getaways, a favourite for romantic anniversary celebrations and those just looking to enjoy a break away. One of the rooms, the Bhurtpore, has the option to become a twin bedroom, which is also ideal for friends / mother and daughter combinations wanting a relaxing break away in the countryside. The Salamanca (the larger of the two suites) boasts an impressive view over the mere, one of the UK’s largest privately owned bodies of water, from both the bedroom and the bathroom.

Guests of the North Wing are attended to by the house manager, who serves their breakfast in the morning, but can also make restaurant reservations, arrange taxis and of course – answer any questions about the history of the impressive venue in which they are staying.

Many who visit Combermere Abbey choose not to leave its grounds at all, relishing all that nature has to offer on their doorstep. Woodland Walks are offered to all guests, with bluebells currently coming into bloom in the woods. Those who do choose to opt out may visit many local attractions nearby including Three Wrens Distillery’s gin school on the edge of the estate, local farmers markets or shopping in the nearby towns of Nantwich and Whitchurch.

Sarah Callander Beckett, owner of Combermere Abbey said: “What a fabulous and committed team we have here at Combermere, I am so proud of each and every one of them. The offering we have here is so special and unique, and it’s wonderful to have a new award that recognises and honours that. Cheshire is such a wonderful county to be in, and guests enjoy exploring everything it has to offer, so I’m looking forward to welcoming many more through the doors of the North Wing to enjoy what we and the county offer.”

The Marketing Cheshire tourism awards were held on Thursday 23rd March and celebrate the fine tourism and hospitality businesses across the region. To find out more about Combermere Abbey, visit its website, Instagram or Facebook.
