Tucked into St Austell Bay, Tregrehan has an enviable location for a Woodland Garden.
The garden is well sheltered, has deep soil and prevalent rainfall and with the mild Gulf Stream Current nearby. This has all helped to create Cornwall’s atmospheric temperate rainforest.
Towering conifers received from the Victorian plant hunters combined with botanically important recent planting has encouraged over 150 trees to reach champion status in the UK. This family-run setting is a delight on un-crowded open days, or at any time by appointment.
In airy contrast to the woodland the old grain mill, walled garden, and magnificent glasshouse range are wonderful light spaces to relax and unwind with light teas, coffee and snacks.
Important information: opening info is generated by artificial intelligence; check specific attraction details before travelling.
The indicator above will show ‘open’ when the public have any kind of access to any part of this property. That could be the park, a shop, or a special event, and may not reflect regular admission times to the main attraction. Always consult the website of the house or garden you intend to visit before travelling to check that the attraction you are interested in is open.
