Hire Skaill House

Here at Skaill House, we can provide you with a unique and spacious venue to host your meeting, conference or event. Skaill House is the perfect place to bring your team, whether to launch a new initiative, celebrate success, encourage free thought, or simply to network.

Exclusive use of the house for your event is available between November and March. We can offer you two meeting rooms to choose from, and plenty additional rooms for any breakouts required. The drawing room can accommodate up to 40 delegates, and the Dining Room up to 20. Teas, coffees and lunch can be easily arranged.

Alternatively, you may have an entertainment event which you would like to use the house for, and we are happy to discuss any individual requirements and assist you where possible.

Accommodation at Skaill House

Skaill House holiday accommodation comprises of two spacious self-catering apartments situated in a private wing of Skaill House – the finest mansion house in Orkney.

Situated next to the stunning Bay of Skaill, and the Neolithic village of Skara Brae, our two four star holiday apartments are self-contained in the North Wing of Skaill House and form two sides of a sheltered courtyard. They have their own private entrance and access to a garden, and are ideal for family holidays beside the beach, or as a romantic venue for couples. Dogs are also verywelcome here.

Both apartments have undergone major renovation work. Extensive cosmetic and structural improvements have created a very high standard of accommodation, graded by Visit Scotland’s Quality Assurance Scheme as a strong four star.

Holiday lets are available from Saturday to Saturday, and short breaks may be available during off-peak times upon request. Skaill House has a well- stocked shop selling quality local food and drink, arts, crafts and books, and the nearby Skara Brae Visitor Centre has a lovely small restaurant serving meals throughout the day, seven days a week (April to October).

Guests staying in the apartments have free access to Skaill House (by arrangement out of season), and get a 10% discount in the gift shop (excluding jewellery and alcohol). Both apartments have WiFi access, and use of a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is ample car parking space, a spacious lawned garden, a sheltered courtyard, and the beach and excellent coastal walks are only 200 metres away.

All bed linen and towels are provided and weekly cleaning, electricity and fuel costs are included in the price of your stay. There is also enough space to store bikes and other outdoor equipment if an outdoors holiday is on your agenda.
