Sandringham House, the Norfolk country retreat of His Majesty the King, is set in 60 acres of beautiful gardens and open daily April until the end of October.

Opening Times and Visitor Information for Sandringham Estate

Sandringham Estate, the cherished country retreat of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla, offers a variety of attractions and events for visitors. Below is a detailed summary of the opening times and conditions for visiting the estate:

General Opening Times

  • The House, Gardens, and St Mary Magdalene Church are open from March to October each year.
  • The Royal Parkland, including the Children’s Play Area and the shopping and catering facilities in the Courtyard, is open all year round.

Specific Attractions and Events

  • Sandringham House and Gardens: Open from 28th March to 9th October, except for closures between 19th–28th July and 20th–23rd August. Tickets are required for entry.
  • Gardens Only: Open on selected dates in February and March. Tickets are required for entry.
  • Afternoon Tea: Available every Friday and Saturday with sittings at 2 PM. Booking is required.
  • Sunday Lunch: Available every Sunday at the Sandringham Restaurant.

Membership Benefits

Memberships are available starting from £60, offering unlimited access to the House and Gardens, discounts on guest tickets, and other benefits such as priority booking for events and discounts in catering outlets.

Additional Information

  • Multimedia guides and knowledgeable guides are available for the House tours.

Historic Houses members must also obtain tickets before a visit, and must have their membership card to hand on arrival at the ticket office.

Group Visits

Due to the growing popularity of Sandringham we have found it necessary that will only accept coaches and groups that have been pre-booked in advance.

Groups are 20 or more people.

We are dedicated to ensuring the level of visitors on site is comfortable for everyone and allows each group and individual enough time to enjoy a quality experience.
