Kirtlington Park is a Grade I, 18th-century Palladian mansion, built for Sir James Dashwood. The imposing house has fine gardens and is set in 3,000 acres of parkland designed by ‘Capability’ Brown, with views to the Chiltern Hills. During the Second World War the park was used as a ‘victory garden’. In 1971, the house was bought by Christopher Buxton and it remains a private house and the Buxton family home.
Kirtlington Park remains a private house, and home to the Buxton family.
The house has undergone a major redecoration in 2018, restoring the elegance and beauty of the Classical Era. The tour features the State Rooms on the first floor and a tour of the beautiful grounds and garden.
