Built by William Adam in 1729, over the old house dating from the 14th century (earliest records).

The marriage home of Annie Laurie, the heroine of ‘the world’s greatest lovesong’, who married Alexander Fergusson, 14th Laird of Craigdarroch, in 1720 and lived in the house for 33 years.
