Sutton Park is a fine example of early Georgian architecture overlooking beautiful parkland.
It is filled with a rich collection of 18th-century treasures all put together with great style to make a most grand but inviting lived in stately home.
Frequent winner in Yorkshire in Bloom – Gold Award 2024 – the gardens attract visitors from both home and abroad and have been featured in many prestigious publications. Herbaceous and rose borders are full of rare and interesting plants laid out with great care over the past 50 years.
In the grounds are a walled pond garden, Edwardian Fernery, Georgian Ice House, and a Woodland Walk. There are also tearooms to visit.

House
The Grade 1 listed house at Sutton Park is open for guided tours only. In 2026, the house will be open from 2nd to 4th May and from 1st to 31st August. Guided tours are available at 1:30pm and 2:45pm. Booking is advisable via email or phone. Private tours are available by appointment for groups of at least 10 people, at a cost of £20.00 per person.
Gardens
The gardens will be open in 2026 from 2nd to 4th May and from 1st July to 31st August, from 11am to 5pm. Toilets in the grounds are available only on these opening dates. Dogs are not permitted in the gardens.

- Gardens Only Admission: £10.00 (Children under 16 free)
- Private Tours: £20.00 per person (Minimum 10 people)
Members of Historic Houses can enjoy free admission to the gardens and house (guided tours only on advertised opening dates) by presenting their membership card.
Miss Daisy’s Tearooms
The tearooms are open from Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm. From October, only traditional Sunday lunch is served. Booking is recommended by contacting Hilary via phone or email. Both cash and card payments are accepted.
