I’m afraid there are a lot of stairs at Trelowarren, and we have no ground floor bedrooms. For clarity this is what is called the first floor in America.

For weddings and celebrations it is fairly easy to get around the ground floor, but there are a few single step level changes

We do have suitable cottages and if you would like to visit Trelowarren that might be a good place to start. These cottages have disabled access bathrooms and groundfloor bedrooms.

Trelowarren has three lovely B&B rooms.

The King’s Room (I’m sorry to say every Cornish house has one) is reputed to be where Charles II slept on his way to escape from Cromwell. The Vyvyans were at least Royalists – so a better claim than some!

A comfortable four-poster in large east face bedroom and an en-suite bathroom with a bath and separate shower.
There is a twin bedroom next door which can be booked with the Kings Room.

The Bluebird Room was part of the re-design for Queen Victoria’s visit. A large bedroom with an enormous American double bed (2m wide) and a wonderful view west over the Chapel. The bathroom is across the corridor but the corridor itself is private.

In the Stable Yard we have the Flora Cafe for coffee and incredible homemade buns and cakes as well as light lunches and for the evenings and Sunday Lunch we have the New Yard Restaurant.

The main house and garden are private (for the use of the family and guests in the B&B) but there is a wonderful 20m swimming pool in the old walled gardens which is open to the guests in the self catering cottages.

Getting here

Trelowarren, Mawgan, Helston, Cornwall TR12 6AF

Please be aware when using the postcode some SatNavs will take you to the wrong entrance. The main entrance, Double Lodges, is on the B3293. Detailed directions below.

Directions from Helston:
From Helston take the A3083 towards Culdrose and The Lizard. Just past Culdrose, turn left at the mini roundabout onto the B3293 to Goonhilly/St Keverne. At the top of the hill (Mawgan Cross roundabout) take the third exit (do NOT go into Mawgan village) drive past Garras Primary School and keep going straight on for one mile to double lodges. Turn left where you see the large Trelowarren sign. Be very careful between the cattle grids as we have wild ponies grazing. Beware of the speed bumps. Do not follow your sat nav as it usually takes you around to Mawgan and not to our entrance drive.
