Brentford, Middlesex, TW8 8JF
Syon is the London home of the Duke of Northumberland. The Percy family were granted the former monastic site at the end of the 16th century.
The Tudor mansion was remodelled by Robert Adam for the 1st Duke in the 1760s, creating a remarkable series of interiors that showcase his distinctive classical style. The Great Hall is regarded as one of Adam’s finest works.
Syon’s 30-acre gardens lie within a 200-acre park, which was transformed by ‘Capability’ Brown. The estate is also home to a stunning domed conservatory, designed by Charles Fowler in the 1820s.
