Accommodation at Smedmore House
The charm of the house is its age and character, with family sized rooms, panelling, library shelves and antique furnishings, all well lit by large windows which let in the sunshine.
The furniture in the house has been handed down through the generations and there are Dutch 17th-century pictures and ancestral portraits. The house is centrally heated by an oil-fired boiler and there are two open fireplaces.
The dining room has eighteenth-century plaster-work and walls hung with over 100 Furstenberg plates, it seats 20 or more.The Cedar Room boasts a satellite TV and wireless Broadband is provided in most rooms. There is a modern kitchen paved with Mexican stone tiles , with a table seating ten, two 4-ring hobs and two ovens.
The 8 bedrooms at Smedmore House and the optional 3 further bedrooms in the Garden Wing are comfortably furnished with a good bedroom to bathroom ratio.
