Why our members love visiting Mannington Hall

Mannington Hall - Barbara Holroyd

Barbara Holroyd - Visited September 2021

“The bones of Mannington Hall are 15th Century gently fortified with crenellations. It escaped both ravaging armies and later Georgian facadism. It’s a sweetie of a home sitting snug behind its moat. Inside – a juxtaposition of modern collectables, antiques and Victorian tear catchers – new to me too.

We were treated to tea and unctuous cakes in the cafe. The Walpole family are hands on and apart from the renowned collection of roses, they are keen environmentalists and promoters of wildlife. Barn owls are resident. There is an enchanted trail for children and big people! Smashing.”
