Hylands Estate is a versatile and stunning location for a range of hire opportunities.

We offer an impressive setting for business & meetings events; ideal for holding small meetings to larger conferences. Our opulent interiors and contemporary Grand Pavilion can provide a perfect setting for your business event. Hylands House has many rooms to accommodate up to 300 guests, some of which have been restored thanks to contributions by the Friends of Hylands House. We offer day delegate packages, or we can tailor your event and offer bespoke rates.

We are a stunning location for the film, television, fashion and advertising industries, and offer a professional and flexible approach to achieving your vision. Situated close to the heart of Chelmsford with excellent transport links to London and Stansted airport, Hylands Estate is the perfect location for large and small productions. Hylands House is available to hire throughout the year with a wide range of rooms and backdrops on offer for exclusive use. Our current fees start at £60 + VAT per hour, although the final figure depends on the individual request. Large scale feature filming and location work is charged at higher rates, which are quoted on a case-by-case basis. Recent filming includes: Netflix’s production, The Crown and BBC’s drama, Killing Eve. Hylands House has also featured as backdrop for several photoshoots for a number of magazines and advertising campaigns.

Hylands Estate can be hired for a variety of outdoor large events and shows. Hylands is an ideal location for commercial events such as: music festivals, car shows, outdoor cinemas and more. We can also be hired for family gatherings, charity, and community events. Most recently, we have hosted the very first Creamfields South Festivals and have hosted notable events such as The National Flower Show, FriendsFest, RiZE Festival and V Festival.
