At Harvington Hall visitors will step back in time to discover how English Catholics lived in terror during the second half of Elizabeth’s reign.
Each corner and staircase reveals a history of Recusant Catholics being fined for not attending church, the countrywide banning of Mass, the hunting of priests and the sordid, hair-raising history of torture and execution!
Harvington’s beauty and history are matched only by its uniqueness. The Hall has seven remaining priest hides, more than any other house in England, and allows visitors to experience the unique beauty of Elizabethan wall paintings, original panelling and floorboards. Adding to Harvington’s reputation as an attraction that people visit again and again, the Hall’s staircases, passages and doorways disorientate and trick the mind meaning no visit is ever the same.
The Malt House is an Elizabethan building that has been sympathetically converted into a small coffee shop, serving artisan coffee, sandwiches and homemade cakes from a bakery counter.
The Malt House menu has been carefully designed to use seasonal produce from local suppliers, to create simple yet comforting food.

Opening Times
General Opening: Wednesday to Sunday
From Saturday 14th February to Sunday 1st November 2026, Harvington Hall, the Coffee Shop, and Gardens are open Wednesday to Sunday, 10:30am to 4:00pm. The Hall is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Weekend-Only Opening: November to December
From Saturday 7th November to Sunday 20th December 2026, the Hall, Coffee Shop, and Gardens are open Saturdays and Sundays only, 10:30am to 4:00pm.
School Holidays and Bank Holidays
During school holidays, Harvington Hall is open 7 days a week. The Hall is also open every Bank Holiday Monday. Please note that the Hall is closed on Good Friday.
Guided Tours
Guided tours of the Hall are available during general opening hours. On weekends, guided tours depart at the following times: 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 13:30, 14:00, 14:30, and 15:00. Please note that guided tours are not available on event days.
Self-Guided Tours
Self-guided tours are available during general opening hours at 12:30 and 13:00, with last entry at 13:15. On event days, Hall access is self-guided only.
Gardens
The Gardens follow the same opening days and hours as the Hall and Coffee Shop, including all seasonal and school holiday patterns.

The Hall is situated three miles south-east of Kidderminster, about half a mile east of the A450 Birmingham to Worcester road and about half-a-mile north of the A448 from Kidderminster to Bromsgrove.
Bus: Kidderminster – Droitwich, No .133 to Harvington, opposite the Dog Inn, followed by a 10 minute walk to the Hall.
Train: The closest station is Kidderminster. From there it is a 10 minute drive or a 1 hour walk to the Hall.
