The paths around the Garden are flat and laid with small stone shingle.

We have a limited number of wheelchairs available to borrow, please speak to a staff member at the kiosk or on Royal Hospital Road upon arrival for assistance.

The Garden is on one level once inside; ramp access is available to our education space and to the Physic Garden Café. Our Gallery space, used for events and talks is up a flight of stairs without lift access. Please contact us ahead of attending a talk or event here, so we can best advise on alternatives.

Wheelchair-accessible toilets are available in the main building as well as the Physic Garden Café. Baby-changing facilities can also be found in the café.

Guide and assistance dogs are welcome in the Garden.

Tucked away beside the River Thames in London, Chelsea Physic Garden is home to a unique living collection of around 5,000 different edible, useful, medicinal and historical plants contained within its sheltering walls.

Getting here

66 Royal Hospital Road, London, SW3 4HS

The public entrance to the Garden is via 66 Royal Hospital Road.

The nearest tube station is Sloane Square (District and Circle lines), a 10 minutes walk away.

The Chelsea Physic Garden is easily accessible by bus; the 170 route to Victoria train station stops directly outside the Garden.

Parking is available around the garden, with pay-by-phone meters. There is pay & display parking in Battersea Park, a 10 minute walk across Albert Bridge.

There is a small selection of solo motorcycle parking spaces in Swan Walk, as well as bicycle racks in Royal Hospital Road and the surrounding streets. Please note that bicycles are not allowed inside the Garden.
