Chelsea Physic Garden is a historic botanic garden located in London, established in 1673. It is home to over 4,500 medicinal, edible, and useful plants. The garden offers a variety of attractions, events, and facilities for visitors.
Opening Times
The garden is open Sunday to Friday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It is closed on Saturdays. Friends of Chelsea Physic Garden can enter from 10:00 AM, an hour earlier than general visitors.

From February 1 to March 29, 2026 (excluding Saturdays), the garden will host "A Dash of Lavender," an LGBTQ+ program featuring guided tours, workshops, and an installation inspired by Derek Jarman's garden at Prospect Cottage.
Facilities
The garden includes the Physic Garden Café, open daily from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM (closed on Saturdays). Lunch is served from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM, and afternoon tea from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Visitors must have valid garden admission to access the café.
Accessibility
The garden is wheelchair accessible, with flat paths and ramp access to key areas. Wheelchairs are available to borrow, and accessible toilets are provided. Guide and assistance dogs are welcome.

The public entrance to the Garden is via 66 Royal Hospital Road.
The nearest tube station is Sloane Square (District and Circle lines), a 10 minutes walk away.
The Chelsea Physic Garden is easily accessible by bus; the 170 route to Victoria train station stops directly outside the Garden.
Parking is available around the garden, with pay-by-phone meters. There is pay & display parking in Battersea Park, a 10 minute walk across Albert Bridge.
There is a small selection of solo motorcycle parking spaces in Swan Walk, as well as bicycle racks in Royal Hospital Road and the surrounding streets. Please note that bicycles are not allowed inside the Garden.
