Accommodation at Cardross

A wonderful blend of elegant formality and friendly informality.

For anyone interested in historic Scotland, a stay in Cardross House will not disappoint. Arriving at Cardross, you will meander through elegant parkland leading up to the main house, where you will be warmly welcomed by Sir Archie, Lady Orr Ewing and the family pets.

Entering through the main hall, hung with family portraits and an open fire, you will ascend the grand staircase to your bed and breakfast room – spacious and beautifully furnished and decorated, with stunning views over the Scottish countryside. The main Cardross bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and small open tower room leading off, with dressing table and stool. The second bedroom, known as the ‘South Bedroom’, has a private bathroom looking out over the garden towards the Campsie Hills. Cardross has a fine formal drawing and dining room for guests to enjoy, where you can be shown and talked through the many paintings, portraits and historic features of the house.

Guests will be served breakfast and dinner in the less formal atmosphere of a delightful small Georgian paneled dining room. In the evenings you will be entertained in the charming library in front of a roaring fire or, in finer weather, visitors can relax on the pretty stone terrace and soak up the sun or explore the glorious garden.
