Please be aware that, due to the historic nature of the grounds, most of the pathways are gravel or bark and can be difficult to navigate using a manual wheelchair. Visitors using powered wheelchairs or mobility scooters generally find these surfaces much easier to access.
Most areas of the gardens are accessible via gravel paths and bark or grass walkways with gentle slopes leading down to the river. As this is a historic garden, some uneven surfaces should be expected.
