Beckside House in Cumbria is an interesting Grade II* Georgian house built in 1767 to the design of the architect/carpenter John Hird of Cartmel and inspired by the pattern books of Batty Langley. A rare example of a small northern gentry house, it has a well-preserved interior with original fittings and joinery, and contemporary garden with formal lawn, shrubbery, and beck-side walk. It has been owned by architectural historian John Martin Robinson since 1986.

The house is open by prior appointment from 1 to 28 August, the latter date being August Bank Holiday.

Parking in village street and short walk.

No charge, but contributions can be made to Ukraine Aid.
