In 1921 George and Mary Cochrane, the owners of the Athelhampton (1920 – 1930), have a new wing added to Athelhampton. This elegant accommodation over three floors added rooms for guests and extended family. In 2021, after a century of use, the whole wing was sympathetically refurbished. Today in combination with the East wing, the private accommodation at Athelhampton is available for hire, ideal for 8 to 14 persons, in 7 en-suite bedrooms, with an additional sofa-bed room. The private accommodation is separated from the Tudor visitor attraction of the house.
By special arrangement, it is possible to enjoy a full Tudor dinner experience or enjoy a leisurely tour of the house with the owner or property manager. For those who feel really brave.. why not ask if you can stay in the haunted Marriage Chamber?
