Ardington House is a Georgian masterpiece which we invite you to make your own for the most special of occasions.
Set in its own extensive gardens and parkland, Ardington House is a listed stately home, built in 1720 with an emphasis on perfect symmetry and natural light throughout.
Whilst remaining a family home, Ardington House offers a combination of classical grandeur and luxurious modern comfort, together with a housekeeping and events team to ensure your friends, family and colleagues can enjoy it in style.
The house is available to rent on an exclusive basis for weddings, corporate events, private parties, holiday hire and film location work. It is also available to visit on certain days in the spring and summer months.

Weddings
Ardington House is available for exclusive use for weddings. The venue includes formal gardens, a riverside marquee, and various facilities. The marquee can accommodate 50 to 200 guests and includes features such as chandeliers, a dancefloor, and a custom-built bar. Catering is provided by Fingers & Forks, with pricing starting at £80 per person for a three-course meal. Venue hire pricing for 2027 is as follows:
- Low Season (April, October, November): £5,800 to £8,300 depending on the day.
- High Season (May to September): £7,200 to £10,500 depending on the day.
Accommodation is available with various packages, such as one-night midweek stays starting at £3,100. Note that marquee weddings are not available from December to March, but indoor winter weddings for up to 30 guests are possible.
Public Openings
Ardington House is open to the public on specific dates in 2026:
- Winter: January 14th to 18th, January 21st to 23rd, and January 27th to 28th.
- Spring/Summer: April 6th, April 20th to 23rd, April 27th to 30th, May 4th to 7th, May 11th to 14th, and August 31st.
Opening hours are 11am to 3pm, with the last entry at 2pm. Entry costs £5 per visitor, and members of the Historic Houses Association enter for free.
Private Stays
Ardington House is available for private hire, accommodating up to 25 people. Features include a swimming pool (open May to September), tennis court, and various indoor amenities. Pricing for 2026 includes:
- October to April: £6,950 for a weekend (2 nights).
- May to September: £7,700 for a weekend (2 nights).
- Christmas 2026: £18,500 for December 21st to 28th.
- New Year 2027: £15,400 for December 28th to January 4th.
Check-in is at 4pm, and check-out is at 10am (4pm on Sundays).

The South Oxfordshire village of Ardington is on the A417, between Oxford and Newbury off the A34 at Milton Interchange.
It is 75 minutes from central London, 15 minutes from Didcot Parkway train station and 25 minutes from Oxford and Newbury.
Didcot Parkway train station is 15 minutes drive from the House which has direct links from the North and South and is just a 40 minutes train from central London.
There is a local bus stop, the Wantage bus which stops at the top of the village itself (10 minutes walk from the House) which is accessible from Abingdon, Didcot, Wantage and Oxford city.
