We’d like to welcome you to the Coach House and Gardens at Eggleston Hall, a Greek revival Georgian home redesigned in 1816 by Ignatius Bonomi, which overlooks the River Tees in outstanding surroundings.
The walled gardens are open to visitors throughout the year.

Visiting the house is by appoinment only. The Coach House Cafe and teashop are open to visitors daily, from February to Christmas. For more information, please see our website.

Eggleston is around an hour’s drive from Newcastle or Teesside. From further afield, the drive from London takes some 5 hours via either the A1 or M1 to Scotch Corner, then via the A66, turning off towards Barnard Castle.
For those travelling by public transport, Eggleston is approximately 30 minutes drive from the nearest train station at Darlington. Virgin East Coast trains run roughly hourly from London Kings Cross and the journey takes around two and a half hours. Arriva bus services 75 or 76 run to Barnard Castle from Darlington. An hourly Arriva service 95 or 96 runs from Barnard Castle up to Eggleston. The driver will usually stop outside the main gates on request.
