Disabled facilities
If you use a wheelchair (manual or electric) or a walker there are parts of the garden which may not be suitable, for example the walk through the wood to the lake and across the fields to the monument statue.
We offer disabled parking (located by the Pay Hut) which are not too far from the gardens which offers seating, and the toilet facilities are close at hand.
There is a lovely Tea Room which is accessible with indoor and outdoor seating – garden admission charges apply to use this facility.
Located near the picturesque village of Instow, Tapeley Park sits at the heart of the wider Christie Estate. Tapeley is a private (but welcoming) estate, open to the public and from its position high on a hill, Tapeley commands amazing views of the North Devon coast, best seen from the ‘labyrinth’ viewpoint .
Visitors to Tapeley get a sense of being transported back to the Victorian era with a stroll through the beautiful Italian Terraces, created in the nineteenth century. From the same era, the walled vegetable garden supplies the fruits and vegetables which contribute to the organic food menu served in the tea rooms.
Amongst the things you can see whilst at Tapeley are a large permaculture garden, lakeside walk viewing area and vegetable garden.
Important information: opening info is generated by artificial intelligence; check specific attraction details before travelling.
