Coughton Court announces reopening date

News from our houses

Tudor country house Coughton Court, in Alcester, has announced it will be officially reopening its gates in March following its winter season closure, as the Throckmorton family assume the day-to-day running of the historic estate.

The estate will reopen its gates on Saturday 7th March 2026 where visitors will be able to explore the Tudor house and all the treasures within it, as well as the award-winning gardens and wider country walks. Tickets are £15.50 for adults (16+), £6.50 for children (under 5s are free), and £14 for concessions (60+) and students.

For visitors looking to enjoy everything Coughton Court has to offer all year round, an annual family membership will be available for £125 including parking (four person membership – two adults and two children or 1 adult and three children). An adult annual pass will be priced at £52 for one person including car parking, with all passes allowing unlimited visits.

After enjoying a tour of the house and gardens, visitors will be able to relax in the new-look cafe, explore the estate shop full of local products and gift ideas, pick up a new read from the charity bookshop, or rest whilst the little ones burn off some energy on the new play area.

Magnus Birch Throckmorton said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming visitors back to Coughton Court in March. It’s a privilege to be continuing our family’s stewardship of this remarkable place, and to share its fantastic history and beauty with the public. Coughton is a place for everyone, whatever their age, to explore and enjoy with plenty of exciting events coming up too.”

Coughton Court will be open to the public from Wednesday to Sunday, 9am-4.30pm, all year round.
