Celebrate Father’s Day at Hedingham Castle
On Sunday 16th June, Hedingham Castle is opening its doors for a special Father’s Day event featuring a delicious afternoon tea that is hand baked to order for your visit.
Step back in time and indulge in the magnificence of Hedingham Castle, a 900-year-old architectural gem nestled in the heart of Essex and one of the best preserved Norman keeps in the country. Treat the father figure in your life to a day out in the historic Hedingham grounds followed by a locally baked afternoon tea of your choice, in partnership with The English Cream Tea Co. based near Great Dunmow.
Visitors wishing to partake in afternoon tea just need to add on their food choices onto their tickets for general admission, via the Hedingham Castle website.

– Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea for 2: a hearty feast including 2 Savoury Cheese Scones, Mature Cheddar Wedges with Tiptree Onion Relish, Finger Sandwiches including Coronation Chicken and Ham & Mustard, Chocolate Brownie x2 and Fruit Cake x2. Presented in a white gift box with napkins and cutlery, and served with your choice of tea or coffee. Can be eaten in the Tearoom or outside in the sun.

– Classic Afternoon Tea for 2: includes Finger Sandwiches of Cucumber & Cream Cheese and Cheddar & Pickle, 2 Scones with Clotted Cream and Strawberry Jam, Lemon Drizzle Cake x2, Chocolate Brownie x2 and Meringue Whirls. Presented in a gift box with red ribbon, napkins and cutlery and served with your choice of tea or coffee. Can be eaten in the Tearoom or outside in the sun.

All options can be added onto your tickets when purchasing General Admission tickets to the Castle and gardens on 16th June. Enjoy a wander around the grounds and woodland, explore the Castle then refuel with an Afternoon Tea or Cream Tea – the perfect picnic treat. Available for collection from the Tearoom in the Castle on arrival or whenever you are ready during your visit.
