A special Mother’s Day treat at Godinton House & Gardens

News from our houses Things to see and do

Mother’s Day will be even more special this year at Godinton House & Gardens with the House Tearoom and gardens open on Sunday, March 10 for visitors to celebrate this important day.

Walk around the 12-acre garden, where daffodils fill the meadow with the promise of spring, and relax on benches for views across the formal garden, the Italian Garden and Walled Garden with its glorious greenhouse.

The House Tearoom will open ahead of the usual House opening season (Friday, March 29), serving freshly baked scones and delicious homemade cakes in the welcoming surroundings of the former Billiard Room.

Godinton House Manager Chloe West says Mother’s Day is ‘such an important day in the calendar’ that the House Tearoom is being opened especially for the occasion. She said: “The gardens will officially open on Tuesday, March 12 and the House opens for teas from Friday, March 29, but this year we are opening on Sunday, March 10 so families and friends can spoil their mums and grandmas, aunties and guardians with a pre-season treat.

“Visitors just need to book their garden entry online and pay for their tea at the house.”

Gates open from 12.30pm to 5pm with last entry for teas at 4.45pm.
