Meaning ‘house of the trees’, Trewithen is a Palladian house by Thomas Edwards of Greenwich, lived in by the same family for over 250 years.
Interiors include the Dining Room by Sir Robert Taylor with rococo plasterwork, and family collections. Much of the furniture was made for the house.

Trewithen Gardens
The gardens are open seven days a week from 1st March to 30th September. Daily opening hours are 10am to 4.30pm, with last entry at 4pm. The car park gates are locked at 5.30pm.
Trewithen House
The house is open for general visiting Sunday to Tuesday, from 26th April to 30th June 2026, and on August Bank Holiday Monday. Opening hours are 12 noon to 4pm.
Guided Tours
Public guided tours of the house are available each day the house is open. Tours depart at 12.15pm, 1.30pm, and 2.45pm daily.
Group Visits
Group Garden Entry is available seven days a week during the standard garden season (1st March to 30th September).
Group Garden Tours run from March to September each year. After the guided tour, visitors are welcome to explore the gardens at their own pace for as long as they wish.
Head Gardener Tours for groups are available midweek, Monday to Friday, with the season running from March to September each year.
Group House Tours are available on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday between 26th April and 30th June 2026.
