Nestled within the rolling Yorkshire Wolds, Sledmere House is a truly unforgettable wedding venue that is surrounded by history and breathtaking views. From your very first visit, our friendly and experienced wedding team will put you at ease with a relaxed yet professional approach, ensuring every detail is taken care of so you can simply enjoy the journey.

There are so many beautiful ways to say ‘I do’ here. Just a short walk from the House, St Mary’s Church offers a traditional and romantic setting, while inside the grandeur of Sledmere House you can choose from three magnificent state rooms: The Library, a room on a monumental scale with one of the finest examples of a Joseph Rose Jr ceiling in England; the impressive Main Hall, with views over the fountain and the perfect place to begin your celebration with champagne in hand; or the elegant Drawing Room, an intimate space for smaller ceremonies and finally the beautiful, atmospheric Orangery.

Your day continues with moments you’ll never forget. Host a drinks reception like no other, whilst sipping champagne from the Main Hall, and taking in the breathtaking Parkland, then enjoy a wedding breakfast in the Dining Room, perfectly suited to such a special occasion. As you get ready in the opulent Red Bedroom, you’ll feel every bit the part, before making your entrance down the Imperial Staircase as petals cascade gently around you in our signature petal drop, a truly magical scene.

When it’s time to celebrate into the evening, you can choose a setting to suit your style. The Sykes Barn, our ever-popular 18th century barn, is full of charm and character, complete with a private courtyard and the freedom to personalise your day, with no corkage fees. The Marquee Lawn offers an elegant backdrop with views of the House, parterre, fountain and gardens, while the Courtyard Room provides a more intimate space with exposed beams and a light, airy feel.

Why let the magic end? With a cosy cottage in the grounds and plenty of local accommodation nearby, you can extend your celebrations and enjoy an entire weekend with your loved ones.
