At Pashley you will discover 11 acres of beautiful borders and vistas – the culmination of a passion for gardening and an admiration of the tradition of the English Country garden. These award winning gardens are family owned and maintained – visitors often express delight at the attention to detail displayed throughout and the intimate, peaceful atmosphere.
All the ingredients of the English Country Garden are present – sweeping herbaceous borders, ha ha, lawns, box hedges, historic walled garden, inspiring kitchen garden, wildlife, magnificent trees and the Grade I listed house as a backdrop.
Then, of course, the plants! Borders overflowing with perennials and annuals – the look changing through the seasons, but always abundantly filled, and each garden ‘room’ planted in a different colour theme. Pashley is renowned for fantastic displays of tulips, roses and dahlias. The annual Tulip Festival features over 40,000 tulips.
Add to all this a Café and Terrace with excellent garden views serving delicious homemade lunches, scones and cakes; Sculpture and Art Exhibitions; a Gift Shop with Plant Sales, and a friendly, knowledgeable team waiting to welcome you, and the recipe for a wonderful day out is complete.

Opening Times
Main Season: 1st April to 30th September 2026
The gardens, café and gift shop are open from 10am to 5pm (last entry at 4pm) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Bank Holiday Mondays and Special Event days. The gardens are closed on Mondays and Sundays, except for Bank Holiday Mondays and Special Event days.
Please note that the gardens will be closed on Good Friday 3rd April and Easter Sunday 5th April.
The last open day of the 2026 season is Wednesday 30th September. The gardens will re-open on 1st April 2027.
Special Events
Tulip Festival: 16th April to 1st May 2026
The Tulip Festival runs daily from Thursday 16th April through Friday 1st May, including Sundays and Mondays. Opening times are 10am–5pm.
Special Rose Week: 12th June to 20th June 2026
Special Rose Week takes place daily from Friday 12th June to Saturday 20th June. The gardens are open from 10am–5pm, and guided rose-themed walks are offered at 11.30am and 2.30pm throughout the week.
Dahlia Days
Dahlia Days occur as summer turns to autumn. For specific dates and further details, please check the News Page or Facebook Page.
Historic Houses members visit for free, except during the Tulip Festival.

Getting to the Gardens by Car/Coach:
On the B2099 just off the A21 – follow tourist brown signposts. Free parking on site for cars. Separate coach park (coaches must pre-book- follow sign for Coach Park).
Getting to the Gardens by Public Transport:
Etchingham and Wadhurst are the nearest train stations to Pashley – they are both about an hour journey from London Charing Cross/London Bridge. Taxis can be taken from either station, both approximately 5 miles away – Etchingham and Wadhurst are both small country stations so a taxi would need to be pre-booked, both from the station to the gardens and back again.
There is no bus that comes directly to or past Pashley. There is a bus that meets some of the trains that come into Wadhurst station and this runs to Ticehurst village (although Pashley is in Ticehurst it is about a mile and a half walk from the village centre, which is the nearest the bus stop, along a 60mph road with no footpath, so walking is not recommended).
