Its south facing terraces command glorious views to the river, which is banked with rhododendrons in the spring.
In the distance are the Lakeland fells and Skiddaw.

Isel Hall is open on specific dates from April to October. The opening hours on these days are from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with the last tour starting at 4:00 PM. The specific open dates are as follows:
- April: 13th, 11th, 12th, and 20th
- May: 11th, 16th, and 18th
- June: 1st, 8th, 15th, 23rd, and 30th
- July: 6th, 18th, 20th, and 27th
- August: 3rd, 10th, 17th, 22nd, and 24th
- September: 7th, 14th, 21st, 27th, and 28th
- October: 3rd and 4th
Admission
Historic Houses members can visit for free. For non-members, the admission fee is £10 per person.
