There is history in the very walls of Hooton Pagnell Hall, and each part of the property tells a unique story.

The first mention of the property was in the Domesday Book in 1086 and the first known owner was Sir Ralph de Paganell, a Norman knight.

Hooton Pagnell Hall has been in the Warde-Norbury family for over 320 years and gracefully passed through the generations peacefully. The first owner was Sir Patience Warde, then the Lord Mayor of London and the present owners’ Great Grandmother was Julia Warde-Aldam, who built the west wing in the latter part of the 19th century. This is now the location of our beautiful Boutique Accommodation.

During the First World War, Julia offered the house to the British Government to be used as a hospital and set about running the hospital herself. Julia was awarded an MBE for services during the war and the main house retains the same elegant character as it did in 1884.
