Grimsthorpe Castle sits amongst rolling Lincolnshire countryside surrounded by gardens, extensive historic woodland and a 50-acre lake.
Enjoy the chance to soak up the atmosphere and ‘Spirit of Place’ in a Castle that has been home to the same family since 1516 and is filled with fine furniture, paintings and tapestries.
Explore the beautiful meandering gardens, including a rose garden, kitchen garden and walled garden. Discover the surrounding parkland and miles of traffic – free trails that provide a safe haven to spot wildlife and other hidden delights.
Families love our adventure playground, which you can find nestled in a tranquil woodland setting. Hours of fun await on the zip wire, challenging climbing trails and playful see saws.
Complete your visit with a delicious lunch from The March Hare Tea Trailer, and don’t leave without paying a visit to our Farm Shop (open Tuesday to Sunday).

Days Open: Sunday to Thursday (closed Friday and Saturday)
Castle
The Castle is open from 11am to 4pm (last entry 3:15pm) during the season.
Guided Tours are available daily at 11:30am and 1pm. An additional tour runs at 12pm on Sundays. If both regular tours reach capacity, an extra tour will be added at 2:30pm.
A Self-Guided Audio Tour is available during Castle opening hours, allowing you to explore at your own pace.
A Virtual Tour of the Castle First Floor is also available during opening hours for those unable to visit in person.
Park & Gardens
The Park & Gardens are open from 10am to 5pm (last entry 4:30pm) during the season.
Adventure Playground
The Adventure Playground is open from 10am to 5pm (last entry 4:30pm) during the season.
Group Visits
Group visits are available from May to September 2026, Sunday to Thursday.

End of Season Special Offer: Enjoy free Castle entry with your Park and Gardens ticket on Monday 28th, Tuesday 29th, and Wednesday 30th September 2026.
A Grimsthorpe Christmas: Festive celebrations are planned for December 2026. Tickets and further details will be announced in September 2026.
