While Carregfelen offers a unique and characterful stay, it may not be the most suitable option for guests with limited mobility or specific accessibility needs. As a historic property, it features narrow corridors, uneven flooring, and original staircases that can be steep and challenging to navigate.
We want all our guests to feel comfortable and safe during their stay, so if accessibility is a concern, we recommend getting in touch to discuss individual needs. Our team can advise on which of the other properties on the Wern Estate might be a better fit, as some offer easier access and more modern layouts.
Carregfelen is a stunning 14th-century Manor House, nestled amidst woodlands and extensive gardens. With room to accommodate up to 11 guests, the property was extended in the 1920s by the owner’s uncle, Clough Williams-Ellis, the architect behind Portmeirion. Inside, you’ll discover charming twisty corridors, magnificent antique furniture, historic family pictures and objects, creating an atmosphere of timeless elegance. There are spectacular views of Moel y Gest mountain from a sheltered sun-trapped garden terrace.
