Buscot Park is an eighteenth-century mansion with a renowned art collection, set in formal, well-kept gardens and parkland. It is the home of Lord Faringdon and his family, who look after the property on behalf of the National Trust. The collections includes Old Master paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens, Botticelli and Murillo, and a particularly fine collection of works by Victorian artists including Dante Gabriel Rossetti, G.F. Watts, and Edward Burne-Jones’ ‘Legend of the Briar Rose series’.

The gardens at Buscot Park are famed for their Italianate water gardens designed Edwardian landscape architect Harold Peto. The formal gardens also feature tree-lined avenues punctuated by planting, statues and seating, and the Four Seasons garden, with seasonal herbaceous borders on the site of the former kitchen gardens.

Visitors can explore the varied formal gardens, lakes and parkland with views over the Oxford countryside, or tour the house free-flow, with information guides provided in each room. The Tea Room offers a range of hot and cold drinks, cakes and scones, and a small shop sells souvenirs and ice cream, as well as plants raised by our own gardeners.

Buscot Park is set on the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds countryside, close to the river Thames, and a visit can be easily combined with other attractions, such as William Morris’ home at nearby Kelmscott Manor.
