Scawby Hall is a Grade 1-listed, Jacobean manor house that was first begun by Richard Nelthorpe (1569-1640) in 1603 and has been lived in by members of the Nelthorpe family ever since.
The house has been expanded and remodelled by successive generations. In 1792, upon the sale of Baysgarth Hall in Barton-upon-Humber, Scawby Hall became the main residence in Lincolnshire of the Nelthorpe family.

Scawby Hall is a Grade 1-listed Jacobean manor house located in Lincolnshire. It has been the residence of the Nelthorpe family since its construction in 1603 and remains a central part of a working estate. The Hall is open to the public on selected days during the summer months, and private tours can be arranged year-round by prior appointment.
Opening Times for 2026
The Hall and Gardens are open on the following dates:
- May: Every Thursday (7th, 14th, 21st, 28th), Saturday 2nd, Sunday 3rd, and Sunday 24th.
- June: Every Thursday (4th, 11th, 18th, 25th), Saturday 6th, and Sunday 7th.
- July: Friday 17th, Saturday 18th, and Sunday 19th.
- August: Wednesday 12th, Thursday 13th, Friday 14th, Thursday 28th, Friday 29th, and Saturday 30th.
- September: Thursday 10th, Saturday 12th, Sunday 13th, Tuesday 15th, Wednesday 16th, and Thursday 17th.
Visits to the Hall are by guided tour only, with tours starting at 1:30 PM, 2:00 PM, and 2:30 PM. The gardens are open from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM on these days.

- Adults: £15 per person
- Concessions: £13.00
- Children under 5 years: Free
- Family Ticket (two adults and up to three children): £35.00
- Kitchen Garden Only: £6.00 per ticket
Members of Historic Houses can visit for free.
Additional Information
- Guided tours are limited to 12 people per group and last 60-90 minutes. Pre-booking is required as space is limited.
- There is disabled access to most of the ground floor of the Hall, but the first floor is not accessible.
- Dogs are not permitted, except for guide dogs.
- Refreshments are not served at Scawby Hall, but St Hybalds Church offers teas, coffees, and cakes on open days. The Sutton Arms pub in Scawby provides more substantial meals.
Private tours can be arranged year-round by contacting the Estate Office.
