Stody Lodge Gardens bursts into spectacular colour each spring thanks to its collection of over 200 varieties of rhododendrons and azaleas.

Spread over 14-acres, its avenues and winding pathways are also lined with magnolias, camellias, mature and specimen trees and carpets of spring bulbs. There is also magnificent yew hedging and expansive lawns to enjoy.

Stody is renowned for its magical 4-acre Azalea Water Gardens. This remarkable garden is hidden within a dark Scots Pine forest and is filled with over 2,000 brightly coloured azalea mollis plants. It is widely believed to be the largest single planting of azalea mollis in the UK. The scent and colour is overwhelming and a walk through the gardens’ gravel pathways, over bridges and by the lake, is an unforgettable experience.

Getting here

Melton Constable, Norfolk, NR24 2EW

Located 0.5 miles north of the B1354 at Briston; 3 miles south west of Holt.

Trains run to Kings Lynn and Norwich from which there is a good local bus service to Holt and Briston.

Stody Lodge Gardens is looked after by two permanent gardeners throughout the year - they are very busy with such a large garden but we welcome in local garden support staff for six weeks prior to the garden opening to ensure it is immaculate for our visitors. This is a private family garden so inevitably some time is also spent retrieving footballs and moving trampolines out of sight!
