Scone Palace is a historic site in Perthshire, Scotland, known as the Crowning Place of Scottish Kings and the original home of the Stone of Scone. It offers a variety of attractions and events for visitors.
Opening Times for 2026
Gardens: Open from 22nd January to 31st March, Thursday to Sunday, from 10am to 4pm (last entry at 3pm). The Coffee Shop closes at 3.30pm.
Palace and Gardens: Open daily from 1st April to 31st October, from 10am to 5.30pm (last entry at 4pm). The Food Shop, Gift Shop, and Coffee Shop close at 4.30pm.
Events
- Scone Palace Garden Fair: Held on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th May 2026. Features nurseries selling plants, gardening workshops, and competitions.
- Snowdrop Day: Scheduled for Saturday 21st February 2026, celebrating the snowdrop displays.

Scone Palace is dog-friendly, allowing well-behaved dogs on leads in the grounds, Old Kitchen, and Shop. Accessibility features are available for visitors with special needs.

We are delighted to welcome coach tours, group bookings and school groups. Pre-booking is advisable to ensure you make the most of your visit and we ask that parties of 50+ people be pre-booked at all times.
We recommend that you allow at least 2.5 hours for your visit to Scone Palace, especially if the weather is suitable for a tour of our beautiful Perthshire grounds, longer if your group would like to dine with us.
Coach drivers and couriers are given complimentary entrance and will receive a meal and gift voucher for use in our catering and retail outlets.
