VAT Reduction Survey September 2026

From 25 June to 1 September, the Government’s Great British Summer Savings initiative cut VAT to 5% on items such as general admission tickets to children’s meals. Now the scheme has finished, HM Treasury are keen to hear from us once more.

We’ve developed our follow-up survey with Saffery to gain deeper insight into what difference the scheme made, so it’s a little longer than usual (around 15 minutes). To speed up the time it takes, you’ll need access to information covering your visitor numbers for 2025 and 2026, spend across admissions, retail and catering, and what the reduction has or hasn’t allowed you to do on areas such as staffing and repairs. The more responses we get, the stronger our voice to UK Government.

We want to hear from all members, whether or not you’re part of our Member Access Scheme, and whether your experience was good, bad or neutral; specific examples are especially valuable. All responses are confidential and analysed as part of a wider data set unless you give us permission to use your example as a case study.
