The much-loved Galloway Country Fair will return on Saturday 8 & Sunday 9 August 2026, promising a brilliant family day out celebrating the very best of rural life in Dumfries & Galloway. A spectacular celebration of country life, Galloway Country Fair once again takes over the stunning grounds of Drumlanrig Castle for a jam-packed weekend of entertainment, rural pursuits, and family fun.

 

From thrilling main ring  entertainment, country sports and foodie delights, this year’s fair promises an unforgettable experience for all ages in the heart of Dumfries and Galloway.

Following the success of last year’s event, organisers are preparing an even bigger and more exciting programme for 2026. Visitors can expect the return of popular attractions alongside some exciting new additions.

Following the success of last year, we look forward to an even more exciting weekend this 8 & 9 August, 2026. You can expect the return of much-loved favourites – from main ring entertainment and local artisan stalls to the ever-popular gundog scurry – alongside some exciting new entertainers and additions. We are sure the event will appeal to both locals and those from further afield wanting a taste of what Dumfries & Galloway can offer.”  Anna Fergusson, Estate Director.

Back for a brilliant family day out celebrating rural life, there will be a host of Main Ring Entertainment, a Kids Zone with many FREE attractions, Dog events with Scurry and Hoopers. The Blackstone Clydesdales carriage rides are returning. Meanwhile come and try, and join in the clay pigeon and air rifle competitions. There will be Food and drink demo’s in the demo kitchen, a Craft marquee with excellent trade stalls. Evening Entertainment on the Saturday Night and Camping pitches available.

 

COUNTRY PURSUITS & SPORTING CHALLENGES

Test your aim at the clay pigeon shooting competition take a shot with the Westfield Air Rifle Club, or explore the world of river life with live exhibits from the Nith Catchment Fishery Trust.

Back again are the popular Gun Dog Scurry, Retriever & Spaniel Tests, and the Dog Show. Try your hand (and paw) at Hoopers, a fast-growing agility-style dog sport introduced by High Five Dog Trainers.

 

FAMILY FUN ZONE & FREE ATTRACTIONS

 

The whole family will love the FREE Kids’ Zone, with everything from mini quads and assault courses to bouncy castles, archery and climbing wall.  Other activities will also be available for a small fee.

Don’t miss the return of the majestic Blackstone Clydesdales, offering free carriage rides around the estate, and take in the views from the towering Big Wheel (small fee applies).

 

FOOD, DRINK & SHOPPING GALORE

Discover delicious local produce in the Craft and Food Marquee, sample culinary delights in the Buccleuch Demo Kitchen, and browse unique stalls selling everything from artisan gifts and homeware to country clothing and outdoor gear.

 

TICKETS & CAMPING & SELF CATERING

Early bird tickets are available now, frozen at last year’s prices until  31st June.  Advanced tickets will then be available until 31st July.

  • Camping: Tents, caravans & campervans welcome at £30 per pitch
  • Self-catering: For those planning to make a weekend of it, browse the estate’s collection of 3 self catering apartments and 6 holiday cottages. Dabton House, a luxurious exclusive-use venue which sleeps 24, is available on the wider estate.
