British Touring Shakespeare Return to Kent’s Iconic Penshurst Place with Shakespeare’s Greatest Love Story
Internationally acclaimed theatre company British Touring Shakespeare will return to the historic grounds of Penshurst Place and Gardens in Kent with an open-air performance of William Shakespeare’s timeless romance Romeo and Juliet on Friday 3rd July 2026 at 7:00 PM, as part of their 2026 summer UK tour.

Artistic Director Andrew Hobbs said: “We are thrilled to return to Penshurst Place with Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare’s most celebrated love story is perfectly suited to the beauty and romance of this extraordinary setting. Penshurst has become one of our favourite venues on the summer tour, and we look forward to sharing this powerful and moving production with audiences in Kent.”
Lizzie Sharpe, who plays Juliet, said: “Juliet is one of the most iconic roles in theatre, and it is a privilege to bring her story to life in such a magical outdoor setting. Romeo and Juliet is full of passion, poetry, humour and heartbreak, and performing it beneath the summer sky at Penshurst Place promises to be a truly unforgettable experience.”
