Raby open at Christmas
Raby Opens its doors to a new Christmas Experience at the Castle
For the first time Raby Castle will open the doors of the Castle in December for visitors to glimpse preparations for an Edwardian Christmas.
Visitors can enjoy the spectacle of the Castle rooms decorated for Christmas, as they would have been in days gone by as the household readied itself for seasonal guests.
Visitors will be able to explore the lower floor of the Castle and soak up the atmosphere of a traditional family Christmas during Edwardian times - the Downton Abbey era. The route will include a glimpse inside the Butler’s Pantry – a room never before seen by the public.
Families are welcome and there will be a trail for children to follow with things to spot in every room.
The Castle is normally closed to the public at this time of year, making this an extra special occasion and one not to be missed. The Castle will be open on weekdays from 1st to 18th December and tickets will include entry to the Park and Gardens, with a one-hour timed slot to visit the Castle at Christmas.
Prices: £13.00 adults, £12.00 concession, £10.00 annual pass holders, £6.50 child (5-15), Under 5s free.
(Tickets are timed, are strictly limited for each session and must be booked in advance. Please be aware that we are not able to admit groups of more than six people at Raby Castle, Park and Gardens, and visitors must be part of the same household. We reserve the right to refuse entry to groups of more than six people, and to anyone visiting with others outside of their own households).
This experience is new for 2020 and adds to the Castles existing season of festive activities for visitors. From November 28th visitors to Raby Castle can purchase their very own Christmas tree from the Raby Estate, browse a beautiful selection of gifts, local produce and decorations in the Stables Christmas shop, and enjoy popular family experiences including the Enchanted Festive Forest and Fireside Stories with Father Christmas.
Admission to the Deer Park and Walled Gardens will also be extended through the Christmas period until Christmas Eve.
