COVID-19: Update from Painshill Park
Whilst the uncertainty of coronavirus continues, we would like to update you on how we are dealing with the crisis.
We all know that the coming weeks and months are going to be extremely difficult for all of us. Our main priority is keeping staff, volunteers and visitors safe. That is why, this week, we have made a number of changes.
Taking into account the latest Government health advice, we ask that everyone who is feeling unwell to stay safe at home. We do, however, believe that access to open spaces is extremely important for our wellbeing in these unprecedented times.
With this in mind, we hope to stay open for as long as possible.
We ask all visitors to wash their hands thoroughly and as often as possible while at Painshill. Hand sanitisers will be available before you enter any building. We also ask that all visitors pay on a contactless card rather than handing over cash. We hope that, over our 158-acre site, visitors will be able to exercise social distancing and ask people to leave space between themselves and other visitors.
We have added more deep cleans to our routine and staff will be disinfecting contact points like door handles frequently.
For the time being, our on-site Tea Room is still open should you wish to visit it. We have increased the spacing between tables and we encourage more people to sit outside as the weather gets better.
We have however taken the decision to cancel all events until the end of April. We will be contacting everyone with tickets soon and we will be rescheduling as much as possible.
As many of you will know, we have already been hit with flooding and storms twice recently. Now, faced with an unknown financial hole, we urge people continue with their precious support – by visiting us, making a donation or renewing their membership. At the moment, for our charity, every pound really will count.
Behind the scenes, we will be continuing to preserve the gardens and our buildings in the hope that we can protect Painshill for current and future generations.
We expect that up to 70% of our volunteers will need to self isolate and some staff are working from home. Please have patience if things take longer than normal. We are looking for volunteers at this time. If you feel you can help please get in touch.
Please note this is an ever changing situation and our plans are subject to change. Please keep an eye on our website and social media for updates.
