COVID-19: Update from Elmore Court

After the last few days and listening to and taking advice from medical specialists, Government officials and of course colleagues, friends and family we have decided that as a result of current events that are beyond our reasonable control we are going to have to postpone all weddings and other functions at Elmore Court that are due to be held between Monday 23rd March and Thursday 29th July 2020.

Elmore Court needs several things to operate and without them we simply are unable to. If ever there was a Force Majeure event it is this awful virus COVID 19. We had wanted to continue operating unless we were told to close by some sort of government decree, but it has become increasingly hard to hold that position and today have decided we have no choice but take this action.

We are hopeful that all of those involved in Elmore Court, whether as a client, guest or staff will understand that this is the right thing to do.

What it means is that all events will need to move to a later date. We are not cancelling anyone’s weddings and are working to ensure that they all still go ahead. It is enormously tricky and for most the new date will need to be midweek as most weekend dates have already been booked in the foreseeable future.

We have consulted widely for the best advice, including our lawyers and are accordingly basing our ability to do this on the individual terms, conditions and contracts we have between ourselves and our clients. We fully intend to fulfil our promise to everyone and deliver on that but on a different day. We of course realise how upsetting this is likely to be and sympathise massively. We will do everything we can to work with everyone to try and get a date that is suitable and might work. These are extraordinarily unprecedented times.

Of course, none of us know how long this pandemic will run for and we will constantly review the situation particularly with regard to events that are booked on or after the 30th July 2020.

With luck it might end sooner than then and as a result we will hold all original dates so that if things improve then people can revert back. Clearly this can only work up to a point and so 4 weeks before then would be the cut off time for keeping that option in place.

There is of course so much more to this and we are here for all your questions. All clients will have an event co-ordinator who are all at work ready to speak to you and arrange things, answer questions and so forth.

We do ask if possible that any questions are sent via email but of course feel free to call us at the office.

This is a big one we realise and ask for understanding and support. We hope everyone stays safe and healthy and will do everything we can to make this as painless as possible.

With love and gratitude.
